Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge

I felt a little cabin fever setting in today. I was browsing a few blogs and some FB pages and just couldn’t stand it any longer. I took a quick peek outside and saw that it was mostly sunny and the inversion didn’t seem too bad and thought to myself, WTH are you still doing here.  I gathered my gear and headed out with the intent to end up at Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge. I stopped in Willard to top off my tank and decided to scope out the North Marina, It was dead so I headed north. Once I got to the Refuge things were pretty mellow, not a lot of traffic. The hunting season has quieted down a bit. I ran into local photographers Brian McBride and Jeff Strong. Jeff is well known throughout the local photography scene, be sure to check out his FB pages and blogs. Today was an off day for me as a lot of my shots were out of focus. I did manage to capture my first Loggerhead Shrike. It was just nice to get out.
